Frances has been referred to as a purple squirrel due to her experience, background and personality.

Frances is currently a VMware Cloud on AWS Product Line Manager in VMware’s Cloud Infrastructure Business Group. She is responsible for VMware Cloud product development within the organizations R&D Cloud business.

Frances’ experience is extremely varied due to the different roles and audiences she has worked with. In the six years with VMware, she has served as a Core Solutions Engineer for both commercial and enterprise customers, been a Multi-Cloud Solution Architect supporting North American partners in their VMware Cloud business, created content as a Technical Cloud Solution Architect in the Multi-Cloud Center of Excellence-Technical Marketing, and now in Cloud Product Management. Underlying this vendor experience, she was an admin and an architect for 15 years in Silicon Valley with some of the valley’s most historically well known tech companies.

Outside of her official capacity, she is also the VMware Hands on Lab Principal for the VMware Hyperscaler Products. She oversees all the hyperscaler based labs that VMware produces on an annual basis. In addition, in her inaugural year as principal, she introduced, drove, and produced the new Live Hyperscaler lab workshops at VMware’s flagship conference where VMware’s largest and most strategic Cloud partners(Google, Microsoft, Oracle, AWS) jointly developed lab exercises to provide conference attendees hands on experience with VMware cloud platforms. These workshops are the first time the Hands on Lab has partnered with outside parties to jointly provide content live.

Personally, she lives in Menlo Park, California with her husband and two son’s who are known as Mayhem & Chaos. She is an active national real estate investor, candle maker, and always fascinated by what technology can do.
